If you are looking into possibilities for your loved one who needs care in order to live independently, Adult Family Care may be an option.

We find caring people who want to open their hearts and home to people who need assistance in order to live in a home setting. We have a thorough screening process to ensure that the caregiver will provide the highest quality of care in a nurturing environment. The screening includes interviews by our social workers, a home assessment, reference checks, criminal history and Medicaid fraud check, and you need to have a recent physical exam and TB screen.

We also have a thorough matching process because when it comes to living with someone, a good fit makes all the difference.

In order to qualify, the person in need of care:

  • Needs assistance with one or more of the following daily activities: bathing, dressing, toileting, transferring between positions, ambulating or eating.
  • And is eligible for MassHealth.

Helping people care for a loved one at home is central to our mission at Adult Family Care (AFC). But sometimes we help by introducing qualified caregivers to those who need live-in support. Read more about qualified caregivers across the region, who are willing to open their homes to provide care.
