Caring for a Family Member?
Being a caregiver is often extremely difficult. We may be able to help by providing financial compensation, as well as ongoing support and training to you in your home. Sometimes having someone really listen to you makes a big difference.
How would I be eligible to participate in Adult Family Care?
You, as the caregiver, are living with the person you are caring for and may be related to the person you are caring for, but may not be a spouse or legal guardian.
The person you are caring for
- Needs assistance with one or more of the following daily activities: bathing, dressing, toileting, transferring between positions, ambulating or eating.
- And is eligible for MassHealth.
We do a thorough screening of all caregivers to ensure that you meet the criteria of this program. The screening includes reference checks, criminal history check, recent physical exam & TB screen, and a home safety assessment.

It gives me a peace of mind knowing that my mom is happy, independent, and safe in her own home and being comfortable with her family around. I enjoy caring for her and making sure she is taken care of at all times.
