Already caring for someone?

If you are already providing care for someone you know, including a family member, you may be able to become a paid caregiver with the Adult Family Care program.

Eligibility Criteria and Benefits

Would you like to care for someone?

If you are not currently caring for someone, but are someone who really enjoys caring for others and would like to open your home to someone who is disabled and in need of daily care, you may be able to become a paid caregiver through the Adult Family Care program.

There is an extensive screening process involving a home assessment, reference checks, criminal history and Medicaid fraud check, and you need to have a recent physical exam and TB screen.

We are especially looking for people who have a background in mental health as well as people who have a wheelchair accessible home.

If this sounds like a good fit for you and you have an extra bedroom available in your home, please contact us at 617-440-0987 or email AFC@eldercare.org.

The monthly visits from the nurse and social worker, and the AFC program paycheck my daughter receives and the respite check helps my family greatly to help us stay in our home.
