Adult Family Care provides many benefits for those who meet Adult Foster Care eligibility requirements.
Benefits
Caregivers
- Receive a tax-free stipend ranging from $8,800 to $18,550 annually based on participant’s care needs.
- Enjoy two weeks of paid annual respite relief (time-off).
- Ongoing support and training from a nurse and social worker.
Participants Needing Care
- Live with a caregiver who assists with personal care and medical needs.
- Personalized care plan and ongoing support from a nurse and social worker.
Eligibility
Caregivers
- Able to meet daily care needs of the participant and program guidelines.
- May be family/friend of the participant, except a spouse or legal guardian.
- Lives in the same home as the participant.
Participants Needing Care
- Age 16 and older
- Unable to live alone
- Chronic medical or psychiatric condition
- Require assistance with at least one of the following: Bathing, dressing, toileting, transferring between positions, ambulating, or eating
- Have MassHealth Standard or CommonHealth (May be a member of a Senior Care Options [SCO], OneCare plan, or PACE.
